perspective & pazookies: sunday in my life

I woke up in a panic because I knew I had slept in and church would be starting soon. I still had to make my breakfast and figure out my outfit for our family lunch afterwards. I remembered I had a bag of second hand clothes to sift through and hoped there would be something cute I could wear today. It was full of shirts which I wasn’t expecting (I didn't know what was in the bag yet) and I put aside a good amount to keep. I threw them in the washing machine and started on my eggs for breakfast. It was the easiest thing to throw together so I baked two with a sprinkle of cheese. My husband went to Dunkin and grabbed us some coffee. I got my fav: blueberry butter pecan with cream and sugar.

Church this morning was all about reframing our perspective on the pressures we're currently facing in life. Some notes I wrote down include:
-we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 2 corinthians 4:7-9
-what if the pressure we're facing is working for us, to point us to a power we need (God)?
-what if God is using the pressure to produce something to help you fulfill your purpose?
-Therefore we do not lose heart. though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. so we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal. 2 corinthians 4:16-18
-my grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness. therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christs power may rest on me. 2 corinthians 12:9
-we were under great pressure...but this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God. 2 corinthians 1:8-9
-the testing of your faith produces perserverance. james 1:2-4

Now it’s time to get ready for lunch. Between now and the time we plan on getting there, it’s quite some time so I’m going to have a simple mills banana bread bar which I haven’t had in years so I’m excited to try it again. My clothes are in the dryer so I have no idea what I’m wearing yet but I hope I’m able to pull something cute together. Just in case though, I’m going to find something in my closet and set it aside. I was thinking of doing my makeup but I’m feeling so tired it sounds uncomfortable to wear. But the last time I did my makeup I actually did just eyeshadow and no mascara and I actually liked how it looked so I think I’ll do that. I need to clean my makeup brushes so hopefully this can serve as my reminder to do that. I’ve actually got a lot of cleaning tasks I want to wrap up today: laundry, decluttering around the house, cleaning out the garage, and weekly organizing. We’ll be doing our weekly grocery shop soon, so cleaning out the pantry and the fridge is also a good idea.

A new discovery I made is that you can download the tune in app on your Roku tv and I’ve been listening to the local Christian radio station on my tv and it’s just been a little extra whimsy in my day. I have that on as I’m doing my makeup.

Finally on our way to the restaurant. We’re going to bjs brewhouse! They have a gluten sensitive menu which is always fun and nice as someone that is gluten free. I was surprised to see the variety in options and the numerous gluten free pizzas they offer. I’m thinking of getting a chicken bacon ranch or veggie pizza with a wedge salad. And they offer a gluten free version of their pazookie which I’m super excited for.

I’m ready to just relax into the moment at the restaurant because it has felt like I’ve been rushing around all morning. I’m one of those people that could sit for hours enjoying the moment in the ambiance of a restaurant. It’s just a vibe.

I decided on my comfy flare jeans and a solid blue top I found in the second hand clothing bag this morning. It has a built in knot on the bottom of the shirt so it’s simple but has a little personality. I did a sunset type of eyeshadow look with browns, and a purple eyeshadow. I used a lavender pink cream blush by elf and then topped it with a more peachy blush to complement my eye look. And of course, elf lip oil is the way to go. I have a few of their shades from their og line but recently got a sheer lavender plumping lip oil. It all came together nicely which is the best feeling when doing your makeup. I put a few curls in my hair and pulled it back in a low pony tail as it’s kinda frizzy today. One of my favorite parts about putting a cute outfit together is the accessorizing. I’ve been wearing my new silver hoops I found on Etsy for weeks now, so decided to change them out to my mini gold huggie hoops. I also got a new cross charm from Etsy that happens to have gold tones so I’m wearing that for the first time today. I switched out my purse for one of my thrifted treasures that I haven’t used in years. It’s this white and blue floral embroidered purse with gold accents. It’s big enough to fit my lip gloss assortment, glasses cleaning cloth, hello kitty compact mirror, and a few cards. For shoes I put on my fanciest sandals that are a dove blue gray with floral accents. There’s silver details which throw me off a little since I’m wearing gold tones today but I feel like it’s neutral enough to work.

Woooow! What a meal. I ended up getting the gluten free chicken bacon ranch pizza, a wedge salad and the gluten free pazookie. I would definitely have all three again. And of course I got a Shirley temple. The wedge salad was really refreshing and came with bacon crumbles and blue cheese. The pizza was large enough to bring leftovers home. They served my pazookie with the ice cream in the carton which was interesting. All in all, a very good meal! Since then, we’ve just been lounging at home and will probably spend the afternoon relaxing and prepping for the week. There’s easily 5+ loads of laundry to put away and I still want to declutter, but before I start with all of that I want to read a little.
