I woke up at 6 am and started my day with my Jesus calling devotional, my fiction book and the Mary Oliver poetry book I’m currently reading. I decided to have a productive content morning and recorded an auditory witnessing podcast, finished and posted my weekly notes blog post for the week, created and posted my weekly collage and made some blog updates. I also watched the Coachella replay of the xx performance from last night. I watched the replays from both weekends and they were phenomenal each time. I hope to see them live one day.
Then we decided to have an early lunch picnic before running our errands for the day. There is this local bagel place that offers gluten free bagels and they’ve disappointed me 9/10 times but I thought I’d give them another try. It was hard as a rock and I’m not even exaggerating. It can already be daunting to have dietary restrictions and try to eat out, but when the food is inedible on top of that, it can be frustrating. Thankfully I picked up some egg bites as a just in case. I'm going to view this as an opportunity to try to find a new gluten free bagel alternative near me. We enjoyed our picnic at a local beach park.
Our first stop after that was to Ross where I looked for measuring cups and spoons, plate ware, a birthday dress and I perused the shoe, clothing and purse aisles. I didn’t find anything. My 30th birthday is a few weeks away so a birthday dress is at the top of my list along with some new basic clothing pieces since I lost weight.
Now we’re headed to a huge shopping area but I think the main stores we’re going to check out there is Target and Marshall’s and then end the night with Walmart.
We ended up stopping at Marshall’s, Burlington, target and then Publix. At Marshall’s I finally found a measuring cup and spoon set, some snack cups, and a new hair brush. There were so many cute juicy couture bags at Burlington but I didn’t get anything. The only thing we left target with was 2 Shirley temple olipops. We ended the night grabbing some produce and staples at Publix.
I started Sunday with a church service and then we headed to Walmart. My main priority was to look for leggings and pants as I’ve lost a lot of weight over the last year. I was somewhat successful and found the cutest pair of wide legged black jeans, polka dot leggings, some basic leggings and a pair of sweat pants. I still have to try some of it on and I hope it works out because i still have a list of things to look for on my clothing wishlist. We also picked up some pantry staples at walmart. We had talked about possibly going to the beach Sunday afternoon but the weather was gloomy and it rained on and off. We just had a relaxing afternoon at home, made spaghetti and watched bring it on.
Overall, this past weekend was a balance of adventure, running errands and some relaxing down time. I'm already getting excited for next weekend.
